SUMMARY:The unification of Mathematics via Topos Theory - Olivia Caramello

DESCRIPTION:I will propose a new view of Grothendieck toposes as unifying
spaces in\nMathematics being able to serve as 'bridges' for transferring i
nformation\nbetween distinct mathematical theories. This approach\, first
introduced in\nmy Ph.D. dissertation\, has already generated ramifications
into different\nmathematical fields and points towards a realization of T
opos Theory as a\nunifying theory of Mathematics.\nIn the lecture\, I will
explain the fundamental principles that characterize\nmy view of toposes
as unifying spaces\, and demonstrate the technical\nusefulness of these me
thodologies by providing applications in several\ndistinct areas.\n\n
