DESCRIPTION:Variation in human long bones\, particularly in cross-sectiona
l geometric properties\, are widely known to be influenced by body size. T
hese effects are\ntraditionally controlled for in order that behavioural i
nformation be revealed from these properties. It has also been predicted t
hat physique affects variation in the proximal limb\, but the magnitude of
these effects\nand the extent to which they persist down the length of th
e limbs are less well understood. Here I will discuss a 3D laser scan appr
oach to investigate these effects in a variety of hunter-gatherer samples
 and report early\nresults.\n
