DESCRIPTION:Emergent gravity scenarios are becoming increasingly popular i
n the scientific community. In this talk I will review some evidence in th
is sense and discuss some lessons from condensed matter analogues of gravi
ty. These lessons suggest some characteristic features of the emergent gra
vity framework which can be put to the test with current astrophysical obs
ervations. We shall briefly review these tests and discuss the feedback of
these investigations on the future development of this line of research.
