 ric.\n\nBauby is editor of the popular French fashion magazine Elle. At th
 e age of 42\, he suffers a massive stroke\, which left him with a conditio
 n known as locked-in syndrome. The condition paralyzed him from the neck d
 own. Although both eyes worked\, doctors decided to sew up his right eye a
 s it was not irrigating properly and they were worried that it would becom
 e infected. He was left with only his left eye and the only way that he co
 uld communicate was by blinking his left eyelid. \n\nThe movie won many pr
