DESCRIPTION:The surface area of human primary visual cortex (V1) varies su
bstantially between individuals for reasons that are unknown. However\, su
ch variability is typically ignored by the vast majority of studies focusi
ng only on commonalities in perception and visual processing. In this talk
\, I will discuss our recent lines of investigations in which we instead u
sed functional MRI and magnetoencephalography (MEG) to study the link betw
een visual cortical architecture\, neural response properties in the visua
 l system and subjective perception.\n
