DESCRIPTION:I will review the connection between the physics of black hole
 s in AdS space and the quark-gluon plasma created in heavy ion collisions.
  Then I will discuss several universal predictions that can be extracted f
 rom the gravity side that could potentially be observed experimentally at 
 RHIC or LHC. No prior knowledge of string theory is required.
