DESCRIPTION:Abstract: In this talk I will discuss some of our recent contr
ibutions in the field of responsive polymer-stabilised emulsions. I will d
iscuss a convenient strategy to prepare architecturally and compositionall
y controlled amphiphilic copolymers and how judicious control of monomer c
hoice facilitates the direct formation of well-defined\, responsive nanopa
rticles. The interfacial adsorption behaviour of these particles will be c
onsidered and the formation of stable oil-in-water droplets described. I w
ill also discuss the assembly of a new class of soft material - engineered
emulsions - based on stable functional droplets and a variety of advanced
liquid-based materials that can be prepared from these materials.\nhttp:/
