DESCRIPTION:The Centre for Organic Electronics (COE) at the University of
Newcastle is focussed on the development of new electronic devices at the
intersection between semiconductors and plastics. The COE brings together
researchers from Physics and Chemistry to address the scientific challenge
s associated with developing new organic electronic materials and devices
with applications in solar energy\, biotechnology and nanotechnology. In t
his talk I will outline some of the work being undertaken by the Priority
Research Centre for Organic Electronics at the University of Newcastle. In
particular\, I will describe projects within the COE aimed at developing
solar paint\, printable low cost sensors and new nanotechnology instrument
 s.
