DESCRIPTION:Cambridge University Graduate Union invites Dr. Lal Khan for a
  Summer Talk.\n\nDr. Khan will speak about exploitation\, imperial aggress
 ion and socio-economic devastation in Asia and Middle-east and the revolut
 ionary way out towards regional peace and stability.\n\nA Q&A session will
  follow a thought provoking talk. Everybody is welcome and refreshments wi
 ll be provided.\n\nAbout the speaker Dr. Lal Khan:\n\nDr. Lal Khan is a Pa
 kistani based historian\, writer\, political activist and economist.\n\nHe
  is the author of several books including:\n\n"Partition - Can it be undon
 e?" - This book examines the historical background of partition of the Ind
 ian subcontinent\, and the formation of Pakistan and India.\n\n"Lebanon-Is
 rael War" - Written in 2007\, this book discusses not only the current con
 flict between Lebanon and Israel in detail\, but also looks at the history
  of wars and revolutions in the whole Arab region. \n\n"Pakistan’s Other
  Story - The Revolution of 1968-69" - This book examines the student and p
 olitical activism of the late 1960s which gave birth to a revolution. Khan
  argues that due to lack of leadership\, the opportunity to establish a so
 cialist and welfare state in South Asia was lost.\n\n"Kashmir’s Ordeal\,
  A revolutionary way out" - This book examines the possibility of the libe
 ration of Kashmir under a united South Asian socialist federation.\n\nDr. 
 Khan is the editor of the Asian Marxist Review\, a quarterly journal that 
 provides a Marxist analysis of worldwide events. He writes regularly for t
 he Daily Times and The Struggle (www.chingaree.com)\, and also for the int
 ernational website In Defence of Marxism (www.marxist.com).\n\nHe has done
  in depth research into the socio-economic and political landscape of Sout
 h Asia and Middle East\, and has written numerous articles on the issues c
 oncerning Middle-east\, Afghanistan and Iran.\n\nIn his book “Partition 
 - Can it be undone?” \, he explained the division of the sub-continent a
 nd the creation of two states\; Pakistan and India in which millions of pe
 ople had lost their lives\, not only during the process of partition\, but
  also in the last 63 years due to terrorism\, disease\, poverty\, hunger\,
  corruption and illiteracy on both sides of the boundaries.
