DESCRIPTION:In the first part of the talk\, we shall review Fisher's corre
 spondence\nrelating the critical 2-dimensional Ising model and the dimer m
 odel on a\nrelated graph. Then\, we shall mention local statistics results
  obtained in\ncollaboration with Cedric Boutillier\, which suggest a relat
 ion between Ising\nconfigurations and spanning trees. Finally\, we shall e
 xhibit an explicit\ncorrespondence between the two models.
