DESCRIPTION:-----------------------------------------------------\n\nThe r
ecent recession and credit crisis has led to calls for the UK economy to b
e rebalanced\, moving away from service based industries and towards manuf
acturing. However\, further clarity is needed on what rebalancing really m
eans\, the implications of rebalancing\, and indeed how industrial growth
on a large scale can be achieved in relatively short periods of time.\n\nT
his talk will outline how industrial policy has re-emerged in the United K
ingdom after a long absence\, and highlight the ongoing issues of attempti
ng to spark industrial growth in a country that remains dominated by non-i
 nterventionist narratives.\n\n--------------------------------------------
