DESCRIPTION:Our panel of speakers will give first-hand accounts of their e
 xperience of applying for jobs in academia and in industry as well as coll
 ege and other fellowships\, founding your own start-ups\, and provide info
 rmation and advice to perspective applicants on what opportunities are ava
 ilable at various stages of career development.\n\nOur speakers on the pan
 el are:\n\n* Jasmin Fisher\, Microsoft Research\n* Dina Kronhaus\, Compute
 r Laboratory\n* Cecilia Mascolo\, Computer Laboratory\n* Ian Pratt\, Bromi
 um\, Citrix\n\nBios:\n\nJasmin Fisher\, Microsoft Research:\n\nTrained as 
 an experimental biologist\, later as a neuroimmunologist\, Jasmin was tran
 sformed by living among computer scientists  to become what is known today
  as a Systems  Biologist (or a Computational Biologist). Her work is mainl
 y focused on cellular decision‐ making processes during normal developme
 nt and disease (e.g.\, cancer). \n\n\nDina Kronhaus\, Computer Laboratory:
 \n\nDina's first degree was in Music (performing arts). Some years later s
 he switched to Neuroinformatics completing an MSc and PhD in Edinburgh. He
 r current position is the Heller Research Fellow in St Catharine's College
 / Computer Lab. Her research is focused on modelling and analysis of neuro
 imaging data.\n\nCecilia Mascolo\, Computer Laboratory:\n\nCecilia is a Re
 ader in Mobile Systems in the Computer Laboratory. Before that she held an
  EPSRC Advanced Research Fellow. Her research interests rotate around mobi
 lity modelling. This includes various aspects which help building a pictur
 e of how people or animals move.\n\nIan Pratt\, Bromium\, Citrix:\n\nIan u
 sed to be a Senior Lecturer at the Computer Laboratory. He left to be a  c
 o-founder of XenSource which built virtualization software built on the op
 en source Xen hypervisor. XenSource was acquired by Citrix for $500M in 20
 07\, and Ian continued at Citrix as VP of Advanced Products and CTO. In 20
 11 Ian left Citrix to start a new company called Bromium\, working in the 
 intersection of Security and Virtualization. Ian remains Chairman of Xen.o
 rg.\n\n\n
