DESCRIPTION:The Kinect sensor has opened up the possibilities of touchless
  interaction in many different environments beyond simply gaming.  However
 \, our understanding of how users want and need to interact with a system 
 through gestures is still very limited.  With this presentation I will pre
 sent three different studies that explore the properties\, challenges\, an
 d social consequences of touchless interaction and how to design technolog
 y experiences with these mechanisms that achieve value and meaning for peo
 ple.
