DESCRIPTION:Optical interferometers now routinely use high-speed auto-guid
ing on each aperture in order to mitigate atmospheric effects and signific
antly improve their back-end sensitivity. Such systems can be thought of
as correcting the gross wavefront errors introduced by the atmosphere.\n
In this talk\, I will briefly summarise some of my work on such a system
to be deployed at the Magdalena Ridge Optical Interferometer\, before talk
ing in more depth about whether current and next-generation optical interf
erometers have similar improvements to gain from higher order wavefront co
 rrection.
