DESCRIPTION:Fluxbrane inflation (arXiv:1104.5016) is a recently proposed s
tringy realisation of D-term hybrid inflation\, featuring some appealing p
henomenological characteristics. In contrast to other brane inflation mode
ls\, fluxbrane inflation has a naturally flat inflaton potential at leadin
g order and thus does not rely on strong warping or an extremely anisotrop
ic compact space. Additionally\, the scenario contains a mechanism which a
llows one to avoid the clash with observational bounds due to cosmic strin
g production rather easily. In my talk\, I will present the most interesti
ng aspects of the model and\, furthermore\, discuss recent progress and ne
w challenges regarding moduli stabilisation (in the context of the LARGE v
olume scenario) as well as the impact of higher-order corrections on the f
 latness of the inflaton potential.\n\n\n
