DESCRIPTION:I will discuss recent work on moduli stabilization without Nev
 eu-Schwarz three-form flux in Calabi-Yau compactifications of Heterotic M-
 theory. In particular\, I discuss a systematic approach to stabilizing the
  complex structure moduli in heterotic vacua and how the holomorphic defor
 mations of the gauge bundle can naturally lead to the consideration of mul
 tiple Calabi-Yau threefolds\, connected by geometric transitions.\n\n
