DESCRIPTION:If your research involves language in some way\, you'd be mad 
 not to come to our free speed-networking event from 5-7pm on Thurs 25 Octo
 ber in Room LR4 (to the right of the main foyer) at the Department of Engi
 neering.  The event\, part of the Cambridge Language Sciences initiative\,
  will bring together young researchers from diverse academic disciplines t
 o discuss their research and potential cross-departmental collaborations. 
  \n\n*What is speed networking?* \n\nJust like speed-dating\, but less ner
 ve-wracking because you know what to talk about!  You and another research
 er explain your work to each other\, then you brainstorm ideas for possibl
 e collaborations and then you move on to someone else.  \n\n*Sounds like t
 hirsty work!*\n\nIt's intense\, but great fun\, and don't worry\, there wi
 ll be plenty of breaks for drinks and nibbles. \n\n*I don't like wine - wh
 at's in it for me?*\n\nYou might meet people who are working on a similar 
 problem to you in a different department who can offer a fresh perspective
  on your work.  You might see ways in which your work can be applied to ne
 w fields\, leading to collaborations and far wider impact.  Or you might t
 reat the event as a social occasion where you can meet people with similar
  interests.  The only thing that's certain is that you won't know unless y
 ou go.   \n\n*Sounds good\, but I'm not sure I'll have time...* \n\nVery w
 ell\; but you'll also miss two inspirational short talks from researchers 
 who have done brilliant collaborative work: Max Little from MIT\, and our 
 very own Napoleon Katsos.   \n \n*OK. I'm sold!  But how much will it cost
