DESCRIPTION:Box-Cox transformations are a widely used Gaussianisation tool
in various research areas\, which has received little attention in astrop
hysics so far. I am going to present two recent cosmological applications
of Box-Cox transformations. They were used to Gaussianise the weak lensi
ng projected mass distribution\, as a generalisation of the currently en-v
ogue logarithmic transformations\, with the goal of maximising the informa
tion contained in two-point statistics. Moreover I will present work on t
he generalisation of Fisher matrices by means of Box-Cox transformations i
n order to produce predictions of arbitrary posterior distributions and di
scuss the potential of this ansatz to construct statistically independent
parameter sets for arbitrary inference problems.\n
