DESCRIPTION:Getting across the value of improving information quality has
always been one of the hardest things to do in information quality managem
ent. The improvement of information quality is too often guided by manager
s' “gut feeling”. At the University of Cambridge\, we have developed a
nd industry-tested a process for Total Information Risk Management (TIRM)\
, which enables to model\, quantify and mitigate risks arising through poo
r information quality (see www.informationrisks.com). We will show how TIR
M enables you to obtain robust results that can be used as input for sensi
ble business plans for information quality. TIRM application case studies
from different industries are presented.\n\n-Getting a better understandin
g of how information quality affects your business\n-Focusing your data an
d information quality initiatives on the "pain points"\, where they bring
the best business benefits\n-Providing quantitative financial measures to
build more sensible business cases for information quality improvement
