DESCRIPTION:Our goal is to decipher the mechanisms of cell determination a
nd differentiation in the preimplantation mouse embryo. We are focusing o
n Primitive Endoderm (PrE) versus Epiblast specification during blastocyst
development and in the past years we have shown the interplay between dif
ferent transcription factors such as Nanog for the Epiblast and Gata6\, So
x17\, Gata4 and LRP2 for the PrE. We have recently shown that the Fgf4/RTK
signalling plays several successive roles in inducing and maintaining PrE
specification. These findings have an important impact in stem cell biolo
gy\, as embryonic stem cells (ES) are derived from blastocysts. \n\n
