DESCRIPTION:Future cosmological surveys\, combining galaxy counts and weak
lensing measurements\, will map the evolution of matter perturbations and
gravitational potentials from the matter dominated epoch until today. The
se measurements will enable us to test the relationships between matter ov
erdensities\, local curvature\, and the Newtonian potential on cosmologica
l scales. These relationships can be modified in alternative theories of g
ravity and by exotic forms of dark energy. I will discuss theoretical issu
es involved in finding an optimal framework to study deviations from GR on
cosmological scales with focus on model-independend approaches. I will co
nclude with analysis of the Chameleon screening mechanisms around spheroid
al sources and in dynamical configurations.\n
