 cluding symposium on Connectivity and the Diffusion of Power. \n\nAbout Er
 ic Schmidt \n\nAs executive chairman of Google\, Eric Schmidt is responsib
 le for the external matters of Google as well as advising the CEO and seni
 or leadership. From 2001-2011\, he served as Google’s chief executive of
 ficer\, overseeing the company’s technical and business strategy alongsi
 de founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page.\n\nPrior to joining Google\, Eric 
 was the chairman and CEO of Novell and chief technology officer at Sun Mic
 rosystems\, Inc. Previously\, he served on the research staff at Xerox Pal
 o Alto Research Center (PARC)\, Bell Laboratories and Zilog. He holds a ba
 chelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Princeton University as w
 ell as a master’s degree and Ph.D. in computer science from the Universi
