DESCRIPTION:Steve's talk will cover the various reasons to try and assess 
 research wider impacts of research (Advocacy\, Accountability\, Analysis a
 nd Allocation) and why it might (or might not) be worthwhile. He will focu
 s primarily on biomedical research presenting a range of research evaluati
 on studies that use a variety of different tools\, however\, the reasons f
 or assessment and some of the tools could be similar across disciplines.
