DESCRIPTION:This talk presents a lively romp through a wide array of resea
 rch topics I have worked on in the last few years.  I’ll speak about: \n
 •         image editing\, including image resizing and recolouring\;\n
 •         algebraic topology and its (mis)uses in computer vision\, part
 icularly for segmentation\;\n•         fancy-pants features which mimic 
 deep learning architectures\; and \n•         3D sensing.\nThe talk will
  be at a high level\, in an effort to keep listeners captivated\, or at le
 ast awake.  Theorem proofs and autographs will be available upon request a
