DESCRIPTION:The South Asia Film Club at the Centre of South Asian Studies 
 is a new fortnightly project that brings a selection of films of South Asi
 a - old and new\, features and documentaries\, from the mainstream to the 
 margins - to the University of Cambridge.\n\nThe club will host its second
  screening on Tuesday 12 March at 6:30 p.m. with the film 'Shatranj Ke Khi
 lari' (Satyajit Ray\, 1977). Based on the short story of the same name by 
 Premchand\, 'Shatranj Ke Khilari' ('The Chess Players') tells the story of
  two noblemen from the kingdom of Awadh whose obsession with chess renders
  them oblivious to the events unfolding around them - events that will lea
 d to the annexation of Awadh by the East India Company in 1856. The film w
 ill be shown with English subtitles.\n\nPlease note that attendance is fre
