st and the engineer - Dr Armin Zankel\, Research Institute for Electron Mi
 croscopy\, Graz University of Technology

DESCRIPTION:The talk gives an overview about the scientific work with an F
EI ESEM Quanta 600 F at the Research Institute for Electron Microscopy in
 Graz\, Austria.\nSeveral special stages like a Tensile Stage (Gatan/Deben
M5000)\, a Peltier Cooled Specimen Stage and a Heating Stage with temperat
ures up to 1500C lead to interesting results in several fields of science.
\nIn the context of in situ experiments specific scientific problems and c
ustomers demands may lead to new solutions\, for which developments by eng
ineers and competent manufacturing are essential. This aspect is elaborate
d discussing several new mountings for the tensile stage enabling investig
ations in the field of polymer science\, life science and industrial contr
act work. As a new development by the Research Institute a cooling platfor
m is presented\, which makes kryo tensile testing possible.\nAdditionally
the scripting interface\, which enables automated experiments in the FEI E
 SEM Quanta 600 F\, is explained.\n
