DESCRIPTION:Morphogenesis is the result of a complex process arising from 
 the interaction between the physical cellular environment and genetic deve
 lopmental program. My project aims to engineer a simple bacterial system c
 apable of programmable morphogenesis. Such a system will be used as platfo
 rm to study the role of the biophysical environment in multicellular self-
 organisation and development. The engineering of this system will be condu
 cted in parallel with the use of computational tools to model and design b
 iological architecture.
