DESCRIPTION:*Abstract*\n\nThis talk presents some works of the Research Gr
 oup of Literary Literacy - GPELL\, that belongs to CEALE\, in the field of
  literary reading. I’m interested in the possibilities of constructing n
 arratives from the relations between verbal and visual languages in books 
 for children. The choice of works comes from books indicated to the annual
  selection of books with the seal “Highly Recommended” and “Awarded
 ” of Fundação Nacional do Livro Infantil e Juvenil – FNLIJ (National
  Foundation of Children´s and Youth Books)\, from 2005 to 2012. Although 
 these books are from Brazil and other countries and translated into Portug
 uese\, the emphasis will be on Portuguese language books.  \n\n*Bio*\n\nCe
 lia Abicalil Belmiro teaches at Federal University of Minas Gerais in Braz
 il and is researcher of GPELL (Research Group of Literary Literacy) of the
  CEALE (Centre of literacy\, reading and writing)\, Federal University of 
 Minas Gerais.  Her researches comprise studies on literary reading\, on re
 ader formation\, and on training teachers' competence to form readers. Her
  current area of investigation is the relationship between visual and verb
 al texts in picturebooks\, incorporating interdisciplinary studies.\n
