DESCRIPTION:Professor Neil Dempster’s career in education has taken him 
 from teaching in the bush\, Fiji and Tuvalu\, to teacher education\, resea
 rch and leadership in the academic sphere. \n\nNeil is a Professor in Educ
 ation at Griffith University\, Queensland\, and former Dean of its Faculty
  of Education. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Council for Educ
 ational Leaders\, and a Fellow of the Australian College of Educators wher
 e he held the post of National President in 2006 & 2007. \n\nNeil’s rese
 arch interests are in leadership for learning\, school governance\, school
  improvement and the role that professional development plays in leadershi
 p\, policy implementation and institutional change. He publishes widely\, 
 secures large grants\, and engages with practitioners and policy makers. N
 eil has supervised many doctoral students\, and offers wise counsel and pr
 actical support to colleagues developing their careers.
