DESCRIPTION:Artificial photosynthesis is a chemical process that captures
and stores the energy from sunlight in a chemical fuel (a so called solar
fuel). This renewable process requires the finely tuned combination of lig
ht absorption\, charge separation and chemical catalysis\, which is superb
ly coupled in natural photosynthesis but much less so by artificial system
 s. This presentation will summarise our recent progress in developing appr
oaches to interface enzymes and synthetic catalysts with semiconductor mat
erials to photo-split water as a sustainable route to the energy vector hy
drogen.\n\n*Entry is free to all and free refreshments will be provided.*
