DESCRIPTION:We have calculated the thermoelectric power\, susceptibility a
 nd entropy of\nBi-2212 and Bi-2201 using the ARPES-derived energy dispersi
 on\, a model\nscattering rate and including a normal-state pseudogap. The 
 doping and\ntemperature dependence is found to closely mimic the experimen
 tally measured\ndata. We have used this approach to examine isotope effect
 s and in\nparticular note that the kink in the dispersion near EF (includi
 ng its\nisotope effect) can be probed through the high temperature thermoe
 lectric\npower.
