DESCRIPTION:Constitutive models form an important link towards predicting
the behaviour of materials under dynamic conditions. This talk will discus
s the construction and implementation of models for metals based on observ
ed material properties\, in particular the thermally activated movement of
dislocations through the structure\, and the generation and growth of voi
ds leading to failure. The talk will also discuss methods for generating s
uitable stress data over appropriate ranges of temperatures and strain rat
es\, and issues associated with the data and the models. Finally examples
will be given of the implementation of the models into dynamic numerical s
 imulations.
