DESCRIPTION:The IceCube Neutrino Observatory at the South Pole has reporte
 d 28 events initiated by cosmic neutrinos of ~TeV-PeV energies which are v
 ery unlikely to have originated from cosmic ray interactions in the Earth'
 s atmosphere.  I will discuss the data and some possible interpretations -
  both astrophysical and involving new physics.
