DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe main player in the geometric Langlands program is the 
 DG category of D-modules on $Bun_G$ (the stack of $G$-bundles over a curve
 ). Following Arinkin and Gaitsgory\, I will define a more manageable categ
 ory\, the \\emph{extended Whittaker category} $Wh_G$\, together with a fun
 ctor $\\operatorname{D-mod}(Bun_G) \\to Wh_G$\, which is conjectured to be
  fully faithful. The construction is motivated by a function theoretic ana
 logy\, which I plan to explain.\n\n$Wh_G$ admits a stratification parametr
 ized by standard parabolics\; I will describe the ``open stratum" (the one
  corresponding to the parabolic $P=G$) in terms of the Langlands dual grou
 p.\n
