DESCRIPTION:Dr Tao Wang has been Senior Vice President and Head of the Chi
 nese Works of Art department at Sotheby’s New York since 2012. He previo
 usly taught Chinese archaeology at the School of Oriental and African Stud
 ies and UCL. He has extensive knowledge and experience in many branches of
  Chinese art\, in particular bronzes\, jades\, ancient inscriptions\, and 
 scholarly works of art. Dr Wang also writes for The Art Newspaper\, Orient
 ations and Arts of Asia\, and has acted as consultant for the BBC and Disc
 overy Channel\, and as a judge for Asian Art in London. He organised a con
 ference on the Chinese art market and set up the SOAS international Semina
 r for Chinese Auction Houses. Dr Wang works extensively with museums and u
 niversities in China and with institutions across the world which have col
 lections of Chinese art.\n\nHow has bronze as an essential invention of th
