DESCRIPTION:In 2013 Prof. Heyns addressed the subject of Autonomous Weapon
 s Systems (also known as Lethal Autonomous Robots) in a report to the UN H
 uman Rights Council.  In it he called for all nations to observe a morator
 ium on the use of such weapons.  The field of robotics continues\, however
 \, to develop very quickly\, and one year on Prof. Heyns will offer his cu
 rrent thoughts on this cutting edge of International Human Rights and Inte
 rnational Humanitarian Law.\n\nThe Centre for Governance and Human Rights 
 (CGHR) is pleased to collaborate with the UN Special Rapporteur on extraju
 dicial\, summary or arbitrary executions\, producing research on issues re
