DESCRIPTION:I will overview the phenomena of strong exciton-photon couplin
g in organic semiconductor microcavities. After introducing a simple descr
iption of strong coupling through the use of a coupled oscillator model\,
I will discuss the field of "Organic Polaritonics"\, starting from the fir
st reported observations to recent observations of polariton lasing. I the
n review our work in which we have used PL and PLE measurements to underst
and the mechanisms by which excited molecular states couple to cavity phot
ons to form polaritons which then undergo radiative and non-radiative deca
 y. Finally\, I will discuss recent experiments in which we have placed two
different organic dyes in the same strong-coupled cavity and have evidenc
ed energy transfer between the dyes using a polariton mediated process. \n
