DESCRIPTION:I will give an introduction to the use of antideuterons in ind
 irect searches for dark matter\, where the antideuterons are produced in d
 ark matter annihilation or decay. Along the way I will explain the problem
 s we face when trying to model signal and background\, focusing in particu
 lar on the current coalesence model of antideuteron formation\, and I will
  discuss the potential of current and near-future\nexperiments searching f
 or cosmic antideuterons.
