DESCRIPTION:Using examples from her own sketchbooks\, Pam Smy reveals the 
 crucial role these documents play in the research and development required
  for illustrating  children’s fiction.\n\n*Pam Smy* graduated in BA (Hon
 s) Illustration at Anglia Ruskin University\, returning to study on the MA
  in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. She now tea
 ches on the same course as well as working for a variety of publishers inc
 luding Walker Books\, Frances Lincoln\, David Fickling\, Egmont\, Random H
 ouse and The Folio Society. Pam is the distinguished illustrator of a rang
 e of award winning authors such as Penelope Lively\, Siobhan Dowd (The Ran
 son of Dond ) and Linda Newbery ( The Brokenspectre\, Lob ). Pam is a key 
 tutor in the long term collaboration between the Faculty of Education M.Ph
 il/Ed route\, Critical Approaches to Children’s Literature\, and Anglia 
 Ruskin MA in Children’s Book Illustration.\n
