DESCRIPTION:Quasi-elastic neutron scattering (QENS) is a well establish te
chnique to explore the bulk diffusion of atomic and molecular species at t
he atomistic scale (pico-second time windows and atomic lengths). In this
seminar I will review the most recent developments which enable us to use
QENS to explore two dimensional dynamics. I will describe the most signifi
cant features of QENS which turn this technique into the perfect complemen
t of quasi-elastic helium atom scattering (QHAS).
