DESCRIPTION:Dr Christopher Chen Li Hsian is a Senior Clinician-Scientist a
 t the National Medical Research Council of Singapore\, Associate Professor
  at the Department of Pharmacology\, Faculty of Medicine\, National Univer
 sity of Singapore\, and Director of the Memory Aging and Cognition Centre\
 , National University Healthcare System.\n\nHis major research and clinica
 l interests are the neurochemistry\, molecular biology and treatment of st
 roke and dementia. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers and book
  chapters\, served on several editorial boards (Stroke\, Journal of Neurol
 ogy Neurosurgery and Psychiatry)\, trial steering committees and data safe
 ty monitoring boards. \n\nSince returning to Singapore in 1995\, Dr Chen h
 as developed a comprehensive multi-disciplinary dementia programme and enc
 ouraged collaborative research in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. His 
 focus is on developing a regional network for innovative trials into condi
 tions prevalent and pertinent to Asia and to enhance Singapore's capabilit
 y for conducting increasingly sophisticated early phase studies utilising 
 biomarkers such as neuroimaging. \n\nCurrently he is Secretary of the Asia
 n Society Against Dementia\; member of the Finance Sub-Committee of the Wo
 rld Federation of Neurology\, International Stroke Society Board of Direct
 ors and Chairman of the International Society for Vascular Behavioural and
  Cognitive Disorders Executive Committee. \n
