DESCRIPTION:* Do you know how (some) academic research is seen by (some) i
ndustrial sectors and companies? \n* How do they think of academia? \n*
What do they look for? \n* How do they choose whom to work with? \n* How
do they choose what topics and projects to work on? \n* What drives their
attitude to IP and publishing? \n* Why do they behave so strangely (for
example\, endless delays and then they want the answer immediately)? \n*
Why do they sometimes seem to drift off-topic and ask about unrelated thin
gs?\n\nIn this panel session three people with an industrial perspective o
n research will discuss the questions above – and respond to questions p
osed by the audience:\n\n*Anna-Marie Greenaway*\, VP Science and Technolog

derstand how academic research fits into the jigsaw of options open to ind
ustrial companies. \n\nDate and Time: Tuesday 30th June 2015\, 12:00\n\nV
