DESCRIPTION:Will climatic warming allow the Boreal forest to advance onto
the treeless Tundra? Will trees at the low temperature limits of their dis
tribution respond differently if they are deciduous or evergreen?\nWill tr
ees migrate in response to changes in winter or summer temperatures? These
questions cannot be answered with simple generalizations. Treelines will
be examined for their geographical\, historical\, physiological and genet
ic differences as these properties are not constant in relation to any one
simple climatic parameter. Changes in seasonal temperatures alone may cre
ate barriers to distribution not previously experienced. \n\nhttp://biolog
