  Refreshments provided.*\n\nThis seminar focuses on dialogue and transform
 ative learning in STEM education with a focus on Mexico and the UK\, explo
 ring dialogic\, creative and critical pedagogies for STEM. The research em
 phasises the importance of a dialogic approach to STEM in improving life c
 hances for marginalised young people and their communities\; if taught thr
 ough dialogic and transformative pedagogies this approach may enable teach
 ers to empower students to improve their own lives.\n\nThe seminar draws o
 n work from a recent British Council project\, including a linguistic anal
 ysis of educational dialogue gathered in an informal STEM education contex
 t: a science museum. Its socio-cultural context is highlighted as an infor
 mal and creative learning environment\, providing opportunities for outrea
 ch to disadvantaged and marginalised communities. The seminar explores the
  role of two Science museums in England and Mexico in the adoption of a di
 alogic and transformative approach to STEM education.
