DESCRIPTION:Precision observations of the cosmic microwave background have
supposedly\nshown that the spectrum of primordial density fluctuations is
a scale-free\npower-law\, as well as confirmed the indication from the SN
Ia Hubble\ndiagram that the universe is dominated by "dark energy". Looked
at more\nclosely the WMAP data suggests that there are features in the sp
ectrum\,\nand physical models of inflation based on supergravity provide a
plausible\nmechanism for generating these through phase transitions as th
e universe\nsupercools in a false vacuum. This has a major impact on cosmo
logical\nparameter extraction - the data can then be fitted with no need f
or dark\nenergy but with eV mass neutrinos in addition to cold dark matter
