DESCRIPTION:The AMI project is about interpreting human communication usin
g \naudio\, video and other signals\, in the context of multiparty \nmee
tings. This is an interdisciplinary problem involving signal \nprocessin
g and machine learning (how to make sense of multimodal \ncommunication s
cenes)\, understanding the content of the recognised \nsignals\, and deve
loping useful applications.\n\nIn this talk I shall discuss some of the wo
rk we have been doing to \nautomatically annotated and interpret multimod
al meeting recordings.\nSpecific issues that I'll discuss include the use
of multistream \nstatistical models to segment meetings at different leve
ls (dialogue \nacts and ``meeting actions'') and approaches to meeting su
 mmarisation.\n
