DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will discuss a large-scale measurement study of
  web infrastructure\, as seen from the perspective of African networks.  T
 he talk will focus on Google's CDN deployment in Africa\, but will also to
 uch upon a number of other considerations\, e.g. the impact of DNS resolve
 r location and inter-domain connectivity. The content of this talk forms t
 he basis of an ACM WWW'16 paper.\n\nBio: Gareth Tyson is a Lecturer at Que
 en Mary University of London. Before this he was a researcher at King's Co
 llege London and Lancaster University. His research interests centre on ne
 tworked systems\, particularly in the context of content distribution. He 
 has published in various well known outlets\, e.g. ToN\, CACM\, IMC\, HotN
 ets\, ICNP etc. In his spare time he enjoys giving talks and then drinking
  in the pub afterwards.\n
