DESCRIPTION:There are very difficult questions regarding the extent to whi
 ch we should apply\, to academic and vocational qualifications\, identical
  expectations and quality criteria. These questions are seldom confronted\
 , partly as a result of the very different contexts and cultures in which 
 the different classes of qualification operate. This seminar will explore 
 the nature of the differences\, examine whether these are essential or mer
 ely contingent differences\, and whether application of common criteria in
  respect of technical performance is appropriate.
