DESCRIPTION:Mobile phones have become ubiquitous within our everyday life.
Modern mobile phones are capable of capturing high resolution images and
of recording high quality sounds. Many are also equipped with a high-resol
ution color display\; they support different wireless networking standards
and have sufficient memory to run a variety of different applications. Th
e development of software applications for mobile computers has been recen
tly spurred on by the availability of more powerful operating systems and
the transfer of standardized programming languages on ever-smaller computi
ng platforms. People take their phones everywhere\, using them in a variet
y of environments and situations to perform a whole range of different tas
ks. In this talk\, I will present how the built-in sensing capabilities in
Mobile phones provide an opportunity for people to monitor their local en
 vironments in affordable way.
