SUMMARY:Glycoprotein VI in atrial fibrillation and thrombus formation - Dr
  Isuru Induruwa\, Clinical Research Fellow
DTSTART:20161010T120000Z
DTEND:20161010T130000Z
UID:TALK68191@talks.cam.ac.uk
CONTACT:Dr. Loes Rutten-Jacobs
DESCRIPTION:The platelet–collagen interaction\, and subsequent platelet
activation and thrombus formation\, can lead to devastating neurological d
amage via ischemic stroke. There is a growing body of evidence pointing to
wards the importance of platelet glycoprotein receptors in stroke due to t
heir requisite role in initiating downstream signaling mechanisms leading
to platelet activation and pathological thrombus generation. \n\nDr Isuru
Induruwa\, clinicial research fellow in the Stroke Research Group will giv
e an overview of glycoprotein VI in atrial fibrillation and thrombus forma
 tion.
